Mini Bus Trip to Albert Dock
Why not get together with a group of friends and take a Luxury Mini Bus Trip around the sites and sounds of Liverpool, pop into Liverpool One and then stroll through the many attractions of The Albert Dock.
Opened by Prince Albert himself on 30th July 1846 The Albert Dock, Liverpool was the first structure in Britain to be built entirely of cast iron, brick and stone. Although originally built to accommodate sailing ships of up to 1,000 tons, by the turn of the 20th century sailing ships accounted for as little as 7% of ships using the port of Liverpool.
The original Albert Dock closed back in 1972 and slowly fell derelict over a period of 10 years, in 1982 plans to regenerate Albert Dock had begun. Phase One was completed in 1984 in time for the Tall Ships Race and the International Garden Festival, then finally in 1988 HRH Prince Charles re-opened the finished docks complex as we know it today.
